The ski resort of La Plagne is one of the most renowned in France, offering incomparable sport delight and family enjoyment, in a huge universe made of ten resorts, arranged between 1250 and 2100 metres high. In 2003, the Vanoise Express even stretched its limits by connecting directly La Plagne with the valleys of Les Arcs and Peisey Vallandry to constitute the almost infinite skiing area of Paradiski, with 425 kms of slopes. From the first years of the tourism development in the massif of the Alps, the will to preserve these natural areas became obvious. The most concerned actors, constant inhabitants of these valleys, managed to get themselves heard to create the first National Park of France, La Vanoise, when the ibex, only surviving in the Maurienne high mountains, was threatened with extinction. These valleys were pioneers by developing an awareness of the necessity of sustainable development, protecting nature while supporting the economic activities growth. During winter, the sport and family activities of La Plagne are not limited to Paradiski, the world’s second skiing area. Entertainment and thrill areas can be found there, between freestyle zones, natural skiable tunnel, and Funslope. But other activities are also available, like snow quad bike, snowmobile, or funnier sledging, like Snow racer, Snake Gliss, or even a specially designed track for sledges. The list is long, but impossible not to do credit to the Bobsleigh Olympic track, organising first time downhill, promising unique sensations.

Summer is the time to realise the luck to be in this protected area. Whereas mountain bike, paragliding, canyoning, treetop adventure courses, Kintsugi Crossfit, or descents of the Isere river in canoe, kayak, or hydrospeed are a few examples among so many others of the activities from La Plagne, the essence of the Vanoise Park opens up to the lucky devils of Champigny.
