Paris - Chemin Vert

THE LATEST MUST-SEE AND MUST-LIVE OF THE CAPITAL

Paris is a theatre, and its play as much as its stage are constantly evolving. Place of major and central History of the world, the city urbanism is growing and continually mutating. In this way, whereas the capital was originally divided in four quarters, being the origin of this word for neighbourhood, sixteen sections were created and maintained until the end of the 16th century, then, twenty in 1702. But it's after the Revolution that the eighty quarters of the city are redefined, constituting, four by four, the Arrondissements as we know them today.

Consequently, every arrondissement has known its proper history and approval rating more or less variable. In the last three decades, it is thus the Rive Droite, right bank, that has known a renewed interest, and its esteem considerably overtook the other side of the Seine. The 18th arrondissement for example, left its working-class monochromy to add some tints of renovation, but above all of cultural richness, and cosmopolitanism. However, it is a little further East that is located the most favoured district of old and new Parisians.

Winner of every unofficial survey and contest of current trends, the 11th arrondissement is the assembly of a qualitative standard of living, in the real estate current prices, the cultural dynamism and the opportunities for outings. Indeed, it possesses the fervent and passionate heart of Bastille in its South, great place of musical shows and events. But also, bustling with a renowned night life, the range of bars and restaurants of Oberkampf is putting together dynamism and modernism with simplicity and authenticity. The 11th district also shows tranquillity and serenity, dotted with little parks, reaching the markets of Ménilmontant and Aligres, and opening to the North on the most paradoxical but also the most pleasurable place to get a full of vitality : the cemetery of Père Lachaise.
